Toolkit Overview

Our communities need to learn the tools of the present-future RIGHT NOW. The key tools are collaboration, design thinking, and data. If you’re a developer or product person then you are very familiar with design thinking because you’ve used it to solve business problems. The great news is that design thinking can be used to solve other problems as well, and specifically to solve social problems that impact peoples lives, like violence and social inequity.

Think Don't Squeeze is an applied design thinking & data science methodology to solve the problem of violence in society. By engaging our community right now in addressing problems that impact them in their day to day safety, we can also teach them skills that can transform their opportunities for the future. By activating the Think Don’t Squeeze campaign nationally we can drive design thinking & data science collaboration initiatives between community members/advocates, public safety/response organizations, non-profits, and businesses to increase citizen impact in thwarting community violence, increasing social well-being in at-risk communities and develop more agile solutions in response to social issues. And at the same time we teach our community skills that will make them future proof in a digital economy.
